Backcountry ranger. Eleven years. I live out of a patrol pack for eight days at a stretch and come back to a bunkhouse most people have never seen. I can read weather, splint a leg, and carry more than my own weight, but I am considerably worse at whatever this is. If you need someone to tell you when the storm is coming, I'm useful. If you need small talk, I'll probably just ask if you've eaten. I'll remember the answer.
